[...] Mario Contini with his Red MX package – (soon to be an Epic package) He's got two cameras. Rent from him! Having the big spread of the light overhead, allowed us to bring the Jib in anywhere we needed, and do passes over the table to highlight the tabasco sauce and the picnic food. We augmented the light with backlight from Jem balls to edge out the actors and bring fill to the food. Using it this way is also unconventional but highly effective when you have limited resources but want a certain look. The Profoto ProDaylight 800 and ProTungsten 800 are highly versatile lights because of the countless light shaping tools that Profoto makes for it. I didn’t even use a soft box or the cinereflector and there are so many options within those categories alone. Personally I think it gives you options that would be hard to achieve with any other light in its category. Right now you can rent them through Sync productions and a few other places.
